Andrew Rosindell - MP for Romford

Andrew Rosindell asked in Parliament:-

What plans [the chancellor] has to meet representatives from the Government of Isle of Man to discuss the Kaupthing Singer and Friedlander banking collapse in the next two months.

Ian Pearson replied that Arrangements for depositors in banks in the Isle of Man are a matter for the Government of the Isle of Man. Deposits with Kaupthing, Singer and Friedlander, Isle of Man, will be subject to the Isle of Man Deposit Compensation Scheme. Treasury Ministers and officials have meetings and discussions with a wide variety of organisations in the public and private sectors as part of the process of policy development and delivery. As was the case with previous Administrations, it is not the Government’s practice to provide details of all such meetings and discussions.

A typical Ian Pearson scripted reply.  Thankyou for trying Andrew but why accept that as an answer?  British people were forced to use an offshore bank, the UK FSA conned the IoM bank to put £552Million into the known-dodgy UK bank and the Chancellor is now using the £552Million to pay off cat charities, Labour friendly Millionaires (Dave Whelan) and select public companies. Getting the £552Million returned is NOT a matter for the Isle of Man, it is a matter for Alistair Darling.
